Our Story

After a brotherʻs trip to Pachaj Sutoc, a remote community in the Urubamba mountain range in Peru, Juanca, Patrick and Ian Sznak experienced the freezing weather conditions first hand. Bitter cold and frost made life difficult for these already vulnerable communities, especially children.
There was an urgent need for warmth. At that moment the brothers decided to
- be changemakers, to demonstrate that their energy could be used for good and that companies must not only exist to generate employment, pay taxes and distribute profits, but also – and above all – to help people make informed purchasing decisions. They chose to create a business that could influence our future.

Purpose

To make real change by improving the quality of life of children living in vulnerable conditions in the Andes mountains and spreading warmth to those who need it most.

For every Hösėg product you buy we will plant an endemic Andean tree in the highlands of Cusco, Peru in collaboration with NGO Pachamama Raymi. Through sustainable forestry practices entire families are able to get out of poverty while contributing to the reforestation of habitat needed to survive and thrive.

We refuse to stop looking for ways to do things differently. Our team is constantly refining our product, design, and supply chain methodology, developing new techniques and sourcing fabrics that are friendly to the planet.

We are looking for ways to reduce our negative impacts on the environment. Thatʻs why we are committed to offering 100% sustainable products by 2025 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2030.

Re-propose

We give new life to the waste we generate. This is our way of encouraging conscious and responsible consumption.

Repair

In the future we hope to be able to offer you a service to repair any damage to your garment, no matter the brand, thus extending the life of your gear. If we canʻt repair it we will recycle it and give it a new purpose.

We have started using recycled materials in our designs. These salvaged items meet our technical performance standards while keeping the promise of offering quality products.

Tëch for Nature

At Hösėg we have developed a unique technology that explores the enormous virtues of alpaca fiber. These beautiful animals live at over 16,000 feet above sea level and are able to resist and adapt to extreme temperature fluctuations.
- The alpacas live free in the Andes making this fiber an organic one by default. Its delicate hoof and feeding habits do not degrade the soil and, as an animal-sourced fiber, water consumption is significantly reduced throughout the manufacturing process. Finally, alpacas do not suffer in the shearing process, which makes this wonderful fiber animal friendly and planet friendly.
